GHunt

GHunt extracts Google account data, activity, and linked services using only an email address or GAIA ID for identity investigation.

Investigator Use

GHunt is an open source OSINT tool that investigates Google accounts using only an email address or Google Maps profile ID. By querying Google's internal APIs, GHunt can extract substantial profile information from any Google account that has public activity — including the account's name, Google Maps reviews, YouTube channel, and other linked Google services.

What investigators use GHunt for: pivoting from an email address to a Google account to discover linked services, finding the real name behind a Gmail address, locating Google Maps reviews left by a target, identifying YouTube channels associated with an email, and cross-referencing Google profile data with other OSINT sources.

What data GHunt can expose: the Google account holder's display name and profile photo, Google Maps review history including locations visited and rated, linked YouTube channel information, Google Calendar event titles if publicly shared, Play Store activity, and any other Google services linked to the account with public-facing components.

GHunt works by interacting with the same internal APIs used by Google's own services. An email address is submitted, and GHunt checks whether it corresponds to a Google account, then queries multiple Google services for public information associated with that account. The tool runs locally and requires Python setup with valid Google authentication tokens.

Google Maps review analysis: one of GHunt's most practically useful features is exposing a target's Google Maps review history. Reviewers often leave detailed comments about restaurants, hotels, businesses, and services they have personally visited, revealing their physical location history, travel patterns, and preferences without realizing that this information is attributable to their account.

Limitations: GHunt's effectiveness depends entirely on the target having public activity linked to their Google account. Private accounts with no public reviews or YouTube activity return minimal information. Google also periodically updates its APIs, requiring GHunt updates to remain functional.

In a workflow: start with an email address and run GHunt before querying breach databases. If GHunt surfaces a real name, use that name to pivot into people search tools, LinkedIn, and social media. If Google Maps reviews are found, map the locations reviewed to build a geolocation picture of the target's movements.
